Your Covington Lions Club has partnered with the Newton County School System and Partners in Education to provide vision screenings, eye exams and glasses for students in Newton County Schools.
In the fourteen elementary schools in Newton County, the Covington Lions found that nearly 27% of tested second graders (120) were in need of eye glasses or other vision remediation... and the Lions Club is COMMITTED to helping those children to have basic access to education and a bright future that they deserve! With your company's generous donation, as little as $80 can provide an eye exam and two pairs of glasses for a child in need, who may be struggling to achieve in school. But it doesn't stop there! As we endeavor to expand this program into Middle and High Schools, the need is increasing! As children's eyes change, and as more student needs are brought to light, we hope to soon be able to say that: EVERY CHILD IN NEWTON COUNTY SCHOOLS HAS THE ASSISTANCE THEY NEED TO SEE, READ, AND BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY LEARN!
